3 Events for Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month
January is National Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month. While we work to shed light on this injustice year round, this month is an opportune moment when conversations about human trafficking will fill headlines, communities, and - we hope - churches! See below for 3 events happening in LA this month, and consider extending an invitation to your small group, pastoral team, or church body!
1. Walk for Freedom - January 13th
Join Cast LA and the FIAT team as we participate in the LA Freedom Walk to stand with survivors and raise community awareness of modern day slavery. We gather at 9AM at Blessed Sacrament Hollywood.
With you! With your small group! With your church! With us -- come walk for freedom.
2. Poster Campaign - January 21st
In partnership with CAST LA, the National Council of Jewish Women is hosting a poster campaign to educate LA businesses about informational display requirements. Victims of human trafficking often don't know where to turn for help. By hanging these posters, we'll provide victims with the information they need to find freedom.
On Saturday, January 27th from 10AM-2PM the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force will be hosting a community event at the Salvation Army with resources, food, music, and more!
